West Hallam Plant Design & Installation 2024

Transforming a dull gravel area into a vibrant garden retreat is an exhilarating project, and we recently took on just that! Our latest endeavor involved a large rear sloping border shrouded in shade, which posed a delightful challenge for our design team. To breathe life into this underwhelming space, we envisioned a stunning planting design that not only complements the shady environment but also brings a burst of color and texture to the landscape.

We began with a thorough clean-up: pruning overgrown areas, weeding the borders, and preparing the soil to ensure our plants would thrive. Once the planting design was finalized, we ordered a large selection of plants that would flourish in the shade, adding layers of interest and a variety of lush greens and flowering accents.

To further enhance the area, we constructed an Indian sandstone patio, creating a cozy nook for relaxation and enjoyment. Surrounded by a carefully curated plant selection, this patio transformed the previously mundane gravel patch into an inviting space that beckons you to unwind with a cup of tea and a good book.

To top it off, we laid down decorative bark around the plants, not only to suppress weeds but also to provide a clean, polished look that ties the entire garden together. This project has truly turned a boring corner into a stunning sanctuary, proving that even the shadiest spots can shine with a little creativity and care!
