These Terms & Conditions apply to all gardening, landscaping, planting, tree work, restoration and maintenance services provided by The Garden Rangers Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the client (“you”, “the client”).
By instructing us to carry out works, accepting a quotation, or allowing work to commence, you confirm acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
1. Quotations & Pricing
• All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
• Quotations are based on visible site conditions at the time of inspection.
• All dimensions, measurements and quantities are approximate.
• Prices include labour and agreed materials only, unless stated otherwise.
• Waste removal is included only where explicitly stated in writing.
We reserve the right to revise costs where unforeseen conditions are encountered, including but not limited to:

Hidden roots or stumps
-
Underground services
-
Contaminated soil
-
Concrete, rubble or obstructions below ground
-
Restricted access
-
Unstable ground
-
Excessive weed growth or neglect
Quotations may be withdrawn or revised after 6 months due to increases in labour, fuel or material costs.
2. Deposits & Payment Terms
Payment terms will be stated on the quotation or invoice.
Unless otherwise agreed:
• Maintenance work is payable in full upon completion.
• Landscaping, planting and construction projects may require a deposit and staged payments.
Deposits:
• Secure a booking slot in our schedule
• May be used to purchase materials in advance
• Are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has been scheduled
We reserve the right to pause or delay works if staged payments are not made on time.
All materials remain the property of The Garden Rangers Limited until paid for in full.
Late payments may incur:
• Statutory interest
• Debt recovery costs
• Suspension of future services
3. Programme, Timing & Delays
Completion dates are estimates only and are not legally binding.
We are not liable for delays caused by:

Weather conditions
-
Frozen or waterlogged ground
-
High winds or unsafe working conditions
-
Supplier delays
-
Labour illness or availability
-
Client changes or additional requests
-
Restricted site access
-
Ecological restrictions
Works may be rescheduled where conditions make progress unsafe or likely to cause damage to property or lawns.
4. Weather & Ground Conditions
Outdoor work is heavily affected by UK weather and seasonal ground conditions. We reserve the right to postpone, reschedule or suspend works where conditions make working unsafe or are likely to cause damage to lawns, soil, plants, access routes or property.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Waterlogged or saturated ground
• Frost preventing safe planting, excavation or construction
• Heavy rainfall likely to cause surface damage
• High winds creating unsafe working conditions
No liability is accepted for delays caused by adverse weather or seasonal conditions.
5. Access, Parking & Working Conditions
The client must provide safe and reasonable access to the site.
Where possible, parking should be available near the property.
Delays caused by:

Lack of access
-
Blocked driveways
-
Parking restrictions
-
Locked gates
-
Client absence when access is required
may result in lost time charges or rescheduling.
A standard working day is typically between 8:00am and 4:00pm unless otherwise agreed.
6. Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to:
• Inform us of any known hazards or risks on site
• Provide safe access to the property
• Identify the location of underground services where known
• Provide access to water/electricity where required
• Keep children and pets away from working areas
• Remove pet waste prior to visits
• Ensure neighbouring permissions are obtained where required
We are not responsible for delays caused by failure to meet the above.
7. Use of Subcontractors
We reserve the right to use trusted subcontractors and specialist contractors to carry out works where appropriate.
All subcontractors operate under our instruction and standards.
8. Living Materials & Natural Variability
Plants, turf, trees and soils are natural living materials and subject to environmental factors beyond our control.
We cannot guarantee:

Establishment success
-
Growth rates
-
Flowering performance
-
Survival
-
Colour, shape or habit
Losses may occur due to:
-
Weather extremes
-
Poor soil conditions
-
Pests and disease
-
Animal damage
-
Inadequate watering
-
Client aftercare
Once installed, responsibility for plant care transfers to the client unless a maintenance agreement is in place.
9. Aftercare Responsibility
Aftercare advice may be provided verbally or in writing.
Unless we are contracted to maintain the garden:
• Watering
• Feeding
• Pruning
• Protection from frost
• Pest control
remain the client’s responsibility.
No warranty is provided on plant survival.
10. Existing Services & Hidden Risks
The client is responsible for identifying all known underground or hidden services including:

Water pipes
-
Gas lines
-
Electric cables
-
Drainage systems
-
Irrigation systems
We accept no liability for damage to unmarked or unknown services.
We are not responsible for pre-existing structural weaknesses in:

Walls
-
Patios
-
Drainage
-
Foundations
-
Fencing
11. Property Protection & Disturbance
While every reasonable care is taken, gardening and landscaping work may cause:

Mud or soil movement
-
Lawn wear
-
Surface marking from machinery
-
Minor disturbance to surrounding areas
Particularly during wet conditions.
We cannot guarantee lawns and surfaces will remain undisturbed during works.
12. Roots, Stumps & Invasive Growth
No guarantee is given against regrowth of:

Tree roots
-
Stumps
-
Bamboo
-
Ivy
-
Invasive weeds
Even after removal or chemical treatment.
13. Variations & Additional Works
Any additional work requested outside the original quotation may:
• Affect the final cost
• Extend the timescale
All variations will be agreed before proceeding where possible.
14. Waste Removal
Waste will only be removed where specified in the quotation.
Disposal is carried out via licensed facilities.
We do not remove:
• Household waste
• Hazardous materials
• Unknown buried items
unless agreed in advance.
15. Ecological & Wildlife Protection
All works comply with UK wildlife legislation.
Where protected species are discovered, including:

Nesting birds
-
Bats
-
Hedgehogs
Works may be stopped or delayed.
We accept no liability for delays caused by legal ecological requirements.
16. Photography & Marketing
We reserve the right to photograph works for:

Portfolio use
-
Website content
-
Social media
-
Marketing materials
No personal details or house numbers will be published.
Clients may opt out by notifying us in writing.
17. Cancellations
Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur charges to cover:

Labour allocation
-
Travel
-
Materials ordered
Deposits are non-refundable where materials have already been purchased.
18. Complaints Procedure
Any concerns must be raised within 14 days of completion.
We will aim to investigate and resolve issues professionally and fairly.
19. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability is limited to the value of the works carried out.
We are not liable for:

Future ground movement
-
Subsidence
-
Weather damage
-
Plant loss
-
Third-party interference
-
Drainage changes
-
Soil settlement
20. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events beyond our control including:

Severe weather
-
Illness
-
Supply chain disruption
-
Fuel shortages
-
National emergencies
21. Privacy & Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.
Information is used solely for:

Service delivery
-
Communication
-
Invoicing
-
Legal compliance
We do not sell client data.
